Board Members
The Institute Board has an oversight role of operations. It comprises of the President , Vice President and 10 members who are further devided into commitees covering important issues in our operations.

Desire Dube
President
Desire has 15 years of professional real estate practise and has worked for Royal Properties and Express Real Estate. He is currently with John Pocock & Company as Registered Estate Agent & Valuer in Bulawayo. He is a registered real estate practitioner with the Estate Agents Council of Zimbabwe, The Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe and Valuers Council of Zimbabwe. He is a holder of BSc Hons in Property Development and Estate Management (First Division- NUST) and MSc in Real Estate Management (Distinction – UZ) . Desire is a core author of a journal publication titled Infrastructure Development and Property Values in lower income residential properties in Bulawayo, International Journal of Built Environment and Scientific Research Volume 2, Number 2. In addition,
Desire authored the Estate Agency Practice module for and on behalf of the Estate Agents Council of Zimbabwe. Desire is also a councillor of the Estate Agents Council of Zimbabwe.

Progress Kamonere
Vice President
Mrs Progress Kamonere-Sibanda has over 15 years’ experience in the real estate sector. She started her career at CB Richard Ellis Property Consultancy in 2008 where she attained invaluable induction into both international and local real estate markets. Armed with determination to deepen her Industry knowledge and skills, Progress joined the Old Mutual Group in 2010 as an Assistant Property Portfolio Manager and rose through the ranks to become Head of Fund Management. Presently, she is the Head of Property Management at Mashonaland Holdings Limited. Progress possesses a wealth of experience in Strategic Management, Portfolio Management and Restructuring, Investment Appraisals, Property Valuations and Development amongst many others. She is a holder of a BSc Degree in Rural and Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe, MBA from NUST and a REIZ
Diploma amongst many other professional qualifications. She is currently studying for a master’s in real estate with the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

Tinashe Chimuto

A seasoned Registered Valuer with over 15 years of extensive experience in the real estate
industry, I have cultivated a reputation for exceptional expertise in the realms of Property
Valuation, and Property Management. My proven track record of delivering high-quality
valuation services spans across Zimbabwe and other esteemed African nations, including
Kenya, Botswana, Zambia, and Tanzania, has solidified my standing as a respected figure
within the real estate sector. Driven by an unwavering commitment to excellence and
continuous professional development, Tinashe has amassed a wealth of invaluable
knowledge, experience, and a forward-thinking approach to the real estate landscape. This
unique combination of qualities has positioned me as an indispensable asset to any
organization or client seeking Real Property Consultancy Services.

Sherpard Mapiye

Sherpard Mapiye brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the board, with over 25
years in the Zimbabwean real estate industry. His career trajectory exemplifies a deep
commitment to the profession, from his humble beginnings as a Valuation Assistant at
Mabikacheche and Associates in the late 1990s to his current role as the Principal Registered
Agent/Valuer for Seeff Properties, Commercial Hub. Sherpard has a proven track record of
success, having worked for several firms as a Principal Registered Agent. This experience
provides him with a comprehensive understanding of the real estate market in Zimbabwe,
encompassing various facets of the industry. His dedication to the real estate industry
extends beyond his professional practice. He actively contributes to the advancement of the
real estate sector through his role as a board member and Finance Chairperson for the Real
Estate Institute of Zimbabwe (REIZ). This leadership position allows him to influence industry standards and practices. Sherpard is passionate about sharing his knowledge and
fostering the next generation of real estate professionals. He serves as a Real Estate Lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe, Department of Architecture and Real Estate,
imparting valuable insights to students. A testament to his commitment to lifelong learning,
Sherpard is a Fellow Member of the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe (FREI) and holds an impressive array of qualifications. These include an MSc in Real Estate Management (UZ), an
Executive MBA (MSU), and a BSc (Hons) in Property Development and Estate Management
(NUST). Furthermore, he is currently a Doctor of Business Leadership Degree candidate with
Midlands State University. Combined, Sherpard's experience, leadership, and academic pursuits makes him a valuable asset to the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe Board.

Joyline Murekachiro
Board Member
Bsc HRUP (UZ), Msc Surveying (Reading University, London), MRICS, MBA (UZ), AREIZ,
Registered Valuer (VCZ), Registered Agent (EAC), Corporate Member (Zimbabwe Institute of
Regional and Urban Planners), Honorary Treasurer (ZIRUP), Supervisor (RICS), Examiner
(REIZ), Immediate Past Vice President (REIZ), President (Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe).
Joyline is a passionate and assertive Real Estate professional, who started her career at CB
Richard Ellis as an Assistant valuer, rose through the ranks to be a Valuer and is currently the
Property Investments Manager for the National Social Security Authority. She also
contributed immensely to the University of Zimbabwe Department of Architect, Real Estate
and Planning as a Part Time Lecturer. She has managed to attain the following:
Over 15 years experience in Town & Regional Planning.
Over 14 years of experience in Property Valuation (including portfolio valuations such as
Africa University, Hwange Colliery, Total, Stanbic, Barclays, Standard Chartered Bank,
Sable Chemicals, CBZ, Old Mutual, Hukuru).
Over 8 years of experience in Property Management.
Over 7 years of experience in Property Investments.
Over 7 years experience in Estate Agency.
She is a wife and a mother who enjoys baking and art and craft in her spare time.

John Ndere
Board Member
John Ndere
John is a seasoned real estate professional with more than 20 years experience in the industry in Zimbabwe and the Middle East. He is a Fellow of the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe, a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS). He is an RICS registered Valuer, Registered Valuer with the ValuerCouncil of Zimbabwe and a Registered Estate Agent with the Estate Agents Council where he sits on the Board.
John is a former Managing Director for Dawn Property Consultancy. Before joining Dawn Property Consultancy, worked at First Mutual Properties Limited, a Zimbabwe Stock Exchange property company, where he was responsible for portfolio optimization and strategy.
John is a Counselor at RICS, moderator at the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe and a former part time Lecturer at the National University of Science and Technology (Zimbabwe)
John holds a Masters in Facilities Management (University of Reading, UK), Masters in Business Administration and BSc in Rural and Urban Planning , both from the University of Zimbabwe and a Post Qualification Diploma with the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe.
A visionary leader with passion for real estate growth and professional development, John will be instrumental in REIZ strategy & membership growth for the Institute.

Polite Ngwenya
Board Member
Mr. P. Ngwenya is a real estate practitioner over with 15 years of experience. He is a holder of a Master’s degree in Real Estate Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Property Development and Estate Management, and additional diplomas—including one in Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing—it’s evident that he has a wealth of knowledge and expertise. His experience has covered real estate management, property valuations, auctioneering and property development. Mr. Ngwenya currently serves as a Principal Valuer in the Town Planning Department at City of Bulawayo.

Grace Mukahanana
Board Member
Grace Mukahanana is the Managing Director and Principal Registered Estate Agent for Rehoboth Realtors. She is a Board member of the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe (REIZ) and former Registrar of The Estate Agents Council of Zimbabwe. Grace has 27 years working experience of which 19 years are in real estate & investments. She holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Business Studies Honours Degree, a Certificate in Investment and Portfolio Management all from the University of Zimbabwe.
She also holds an IMM Diploma in Marketing from the Institute of Marketing Management.A
certificate of proficiency (COP) from the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe .Grace is a Registered Estate Agent and member of the Estate Agents Council. She is an Associate
member of the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe (REIZ) Valuation and Agency Division.
Mrs. Mukahanana acquired her experience from organizations such as Old Mutual, Estate Agents Council, Africom, African Sun and PG. At Old Mutual where Grace spent a significant part of her career, she rose through the ranks in the property business from the role of Property Manager up to the position of General Manager. Prior to her current position, Grace was the Registrar of the Estate Agents Council Zimbabwe, the regulatory board for Estate Agents in Zimbabwe.Grace is a person of high integrity, a dedicated and committed member of the Real Estate industry who is committed in seeing the industry scale up to greater heights.

Tapuwa Chimbetete
Board Member
Tapuwa holds a Master’s Degree in Real Estate from the University of Pretoria and a BSc in Rural and Urban Planning from the University of Zimbabwe. He has certifications in ISO 9001:2008, Corporate Business Strategy, Investment and Portfolio Management, Project Management and Real Estate Investment analysis. Currently, he is Head and Principal Valuer for NMB Properties, a subsidiary of NMBZ Holdings. He has 15 years working experience in Development Planning and Real Estate from institutions such as CB Richard Ellis, ZAMCO and the City of Harare. Tapuwa is an Associate of the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe and a Member of the Valuers Council of Zimbabwe. His keen areas of interest are Real Estate Strategy Formulation and Implementation, Property Development, Research
and the integration of sustainability practice’s in Zimbabwe’s real estate space

Rumbidzai Dihwa

She is Rumbidzai Dihwa, a renowned Chartered Valuation Surveyor and Enterpreneur.

B.A General(1987, U.Z) Post Graduate Diploma in Land Economy(1992, University of Delph

Enamani Volo
Board Member
Principal Registered Estate Agent & Valuer at Eelis Real Estate in Gweru. Enamani is committed property professional with over 15 years of experience in real estate industry. Started the profession at Knight Frank in the year 2000 and qualified under Ken Estate Agents. Skilled in financial modeling and property investment analysis. Passionate about leveraging research insights to drive sustainable property investment and development. An Associate Member of REIZ, and holder of a BSc Degree in Property Development and Estate Management (NUST).

Theophilus Makapu
Board Member
Makapu Theophilus has over 25 years' experience in the real estate Industry, he started his career at Eagle Estate Agent as the cashier in 2000 and moved to a position as an accounts clerk, from 2006 to 2010, then moved to a position as a sales consultant and a valuer that was 2011-2017 and in 2018 promoted to be the BTanch Manager i.e. the Principal Registered Agent Mutare Branch. He is a holder of the following credentials:-
- National Diploma in Accounting
- Associate member in Real Estate Institute of zimbabwe - Registered valuer
- Members of the master of High court of zimbabwe panel valuers.
